Post
production is where all the video is cut up, fine tuned and put together.
Things get polished up, sound effects and voice over are dubbed in.
When it's all done, hopefully something has been built that is inspiring,
entertaining, and worth watching
Not too
long ago, post production for the average home user consisted of connecting
a VCR and a camcorder together. If you wanted to get real fancy, you
could
edit video digitally at home but, it cost thousands of dollars in
computer equipment, super fast hard disk arrays, and special capture
cards. Even with all the special equipment, there was still headaches
dealing with droped frames and unstable computer working conditions.
But with the advent of DV video, real post production has become a
reality to the average home user. Now regular people have access to
making fades, special effects, custom title, and just about anything
else you can imagine. Home video editing is poised to become the next
desktop revolution like desktop publishing was in the 80's and early
90's.
